Is this an automatic or a quartz watch?
Automatic. The AbyssElite runs a Japanese automatic movement that winds itself as you wear it. There is no battery to replace.
What is the small-seconds sub-dial?
Instead of a central seconds hand, the running seconds are shown on their own small dial, a classic dress-watch layout. The watch also has a date window.
Can I read it in the dark?
Yes. It has luminous detailing for reading the time after dark.
What size wrist does it fit?
At 41.5mm wide and about 53.6mm lug-to-lug it suits most wrists. Bracelet links can be removed for a snug fit.
Can I swim or dive with it?
No. It is rated 5 ATM / 50m, which covers hand-washing, splashes and rain. It is not a dive watch. For swimming and diving, choose the AbyssForce 500M.
Is the crystal really sapphire?
Yes. Sapphire is the second-hardest material after diamond and resists everyday scratches far better than mineral glass.
