AbyssForce 500M Meca-Quartz Dive Chronograph — Seiko VK63 Movement
A real dive chronograph at a real price. Seiko's VK63 meca-quartz movement. 500 meters of real water resistance. Screw-down chronograph pushers. Helium release valve. Anti-reflective sapphire crystal. Solid 316L steel.
A real dive chronograph at a price that doesn't require an apology.
The AbyssForce 500M combines Seiko's VK63 meca-quartz movement — the same chronograph movement used in respected microbrands like Dan Henry and Brew — with 500 meters of dive water resistance, screw-down chronograph pushers, solid 316L surgical-grade stainless steel, and anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
Mechanical chronograph feel. Quartz reliability. Built heavy. Built to be worn.
The VK63 is a hybrid movement: a mechanical chronograph module with a smooth sweeping seconds hand and instant snap-back reset, driven by quartz accuracy of ±20 seconds per month — significantly more accurate than typical automatics at ±30 seconds per day.
This isn't a fashion piece dressed to look like a dive watch. Screw-down crown. Screw-down chronograph pushers that maintain 500m water resistance during operation. Helium release valve on the left side. Every feature on this watch is there for a reason.

Pulled from published specs and manufacturer data. No spin. Here's how the AbyssForce 500M compares to the watches chronograph buyers actually cross-shop.
Built to a standard,
not to a markup.
Every spec on the dial is the spec you actually get. The Seiko VK63 meca-quartz movement delivers mechanical chronograph action with quartz-level accuracy — the same movement respected microbrands charge two to three times more to put on your wrist.
Chronograph Performance with Quartz Reliability.
The VK63 is a hybrid movement combining a mechanical chronograph module with quartz timekeeping. Chronograph operation has the smooth sweep and instant snap-back reset of a real mechanical chronograph. Timekeeping has quartz accuracy of ±20 seconds per month — significantly more accurate than typical automatic mechanical watches at ±30 seconds per day.
Press the top pusher to start timing. The central seconds hand sweeps smoothly. Press again to stop. Press the bottom pusher to reset all chronograph hands to zero with instant snap-back action. Then wind down the pushers — they screw in to maintain your 500m seal.

- Reset actionInstant snap-back
- Timekeeping accuracy±20 sec/month

The three sub-dials aren't decorative. They work.
The tachymeter scale on the chapter ring lets you measure speed over a known distance. Start the chronograph as you pass a starting marker. Stop it as you pass a marker exactly one mile or one kilometer away. The number the seconds hand points to is your speed in MPH or KMH.
The 12 o'clock sub-dial counts elapsed minutes up to 60. The 9 o'clock sub-dial counts elapsed hours up to 24. The 6 o'clock sub-dial shows running seconds while the chronograph is stopped. The date function sits symmetrically at 6 o'clock.
Five engineering decisions built for real dive conditions.
The AbyssForce isn't built around a spec sheet — it's built around what actually happens when a watch meets real water. Every feature below is here because a dive chronograph needs it.
-
01
Screw-Down Chronograph Pushers
Water resistance maintained during chronograph operation. The feature most dive chronographs skip.
-
02
Helium Release Valve (Left Side)
Engineered for saturation-diving conditions. Functional valve, full-spec dive watch construction.
-
03
Anti-Reflective Sapphire Crystal
Coated to cut glare in sun, water, and indoor light. Clear dial readability in all conditions.
-
04
Solid 316L Steel Bracelet
Solid links throughout, not hollow construction. Signed folding clasp with safety lock.
-
05
Rotating Dive Bezel
Solid clicks. Luminous pip. The dive timing tool you can actually read at depth.
Built for presence.
The AbyssForce 500M is a bold, substantial watch. At 48mm case diameter, 14mm thick, and 270 grams, it has serious wrist presence. Best for wrists 7.0 inches or larger. The 230mm bracelet comfortably fits wrists from 7.0" to 8.5". If you're looking for a more refined size, see our AbyssNova 200M (40mm) or AbyssHeritage 500M (43mm) instead.
This watch isn't for everyone.
It's probably for you.
The Realist
You know Dan Henry and Brew use the same VK63 movement and charge $395–$475. You'd rather own the one with 500m water resistance, screw-down pushers, a helium valve, and a signed clasp — and keep $200 in your pocket.
The Real-Dive-Watch Buyer
You want a working chronograph, not a decoration. You want screw-down pushers that maintain water resistance when you hit the water. You want a tool watch that works as a tool. The AbyssForce was built for exactly this.
The Daily Wearer
You want a beater chronograph diver you'll wear five days a week, built well enough that you'll still respect it on day 1,000. Heavy. Solid. Three-year battery. No winding. Ready for anything.
Three steps. Then it's on your wrist.
No appointments. No waitlists. No salesman trying to explain why a battery is a bad thing.

Without AbyssForce
A chronograph that looks the part but won't hold up in actual water.
- —Push-down pushers that sacrifice water resistance every time you use them
- —Sub-dials that go nowhere and count nothing real
- —Paying $400+ for the same VK63 movement without the dive spec
- —No helium valve, no screw-down crown, no real dive credibility
- —A "dive" chronograph rated 50m — barely shower-proof
With AbyssForce
A dive chronograph built for the water it's rated for.
- +Screw-down pushers that keep the 500m rating intact during timing
- +Three working sub-dials: 60-min, 24-hr, running seconds
- +Seiko VK63 — mechanical chronograph action, quartz accuracy
- +Helium release valve. Real full-spec dive watch construction.
- +500m / 50BAR — swimming, snorkeling, and recreational scuba ready
Men who stopped settling for less.
Great value for the money. It looks sharp on the wrist, feels solid, and keeps good time. I'm really happy with it.

I've had it for over a year now, and it has performed very well. I'm still very satisfied with its quality and overall experience.

I normally like big, heavy watches as I'm used to the G-Shock G-Steel, so this watch feels just like that, looks just as great, but for a fraction of the price. Extremely happy with it.
